Who we are

The Florida Brahman Breeders Association supports Brahman breeders and cattlemen in the state of Florida. We look forward to visiting with you about Brahman cattle and all the benefits they can bring to your cow herd.

Brahman Events

We are passionate about Brahman cattle. We have different events during the year that support Brahman breeders, as well as the Florida Junior Brahman Breeders. We encourage all Brahman breeders to join the Florida Brahman Breeders Association

Benefits of Brahman Cattle

HEAT RESISTANCE

Brahman cattle have been bred to handle heat and drought conditions. They thrive in hot, humid, and rainy environments and are well suited for Florida Cattlemen.

GAIN EFFICIENCY

Brahman cattle are well-known for their efficiency and their ability to convert feed into pounds of beef. Brahman-cross cattle have fast gains and do well in locations where forage is limited.

MATERNAL BENEFITS

Brahman cows give a lot of milk,  are productive longer than other breeds, have high fertility and wean fast-growing calves with fewer inputs. These traits make Brahman females more profitable than other breeds of cattle.

SUPERIOR CROSSBREEDING

Hybrid vigor is the increased size and fertility that characterizes the progeny of a cross between diverse parent. The use of Brahman cattle crossed on European bred cattle is one of the most successful and popular crossbreeding practices.

FBA Field Day

FBA Annual Field Day and Heifer Sale is both a fundraising event and a place to enjoy visiting with fellow Brahman breeders. In 2023 the Field Day will be in held April at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL
